Tire Care

Tires are designed and built with great care to provide thousands of miles of excellent service.  But, for maximum benefit, they must be maintained properly.  The most important factors for tire care are: proper inflation pressure, proper tire wear, good driving habits, proper vehicle loading,  and regular inspection. With the right amount of air pressure, you will achieve optimum tire performance.  This means your tires wear longer, save fuel, and help prevent accidents.  Check tire inflation pressure (including the spare) at least once a month and before every long trip.  Tire pressure must be checked when the tire is cold, or before they have run a mile.

An unbalanced wheel and tire assembly may create a vibration when you drive on a smooth surface and may result in irregular tread wear.

The purpose of regularly rotating tires is to achieve more uniform wear on all tires on a vehicle.  Your owners manual will state the recommended intervals for tire rotation.  If no rotation period is recommended, then it is recommended to rotate your tires approximately every 6,000 miles.

Is there alternative transportation available?

Absolutely! We know that servicing your car isn't first on your priority list.  To this end, we try to get you on your way with as little interruption as possible.  We offer professionally driven Mercedes-Benz R-class for local trips to your office, the train station, and the mall.  For those customers who have purchased a vehicle from Mercedes Benz of Smithtown, we provide Mercedes Benz courtesy cars.

How do I get replacement keys for my car?

Please call our parts department at 631-265-5339 to order a new key(s) for your Mercedes Benz.  You will need to provide us with a copy of your drivers license and the registration for the vehicle prior to ordering the new key(s).

Proper and Timely Maintenance Preserves Your Warranty

Your new vehicle is protected by a factory warranty. However, the manufacturer does have the right to deny warranty coverage if you fail to service your vehicle at the factory-recommended mileage intervals. We will maintain your vehicle and keep copies of service records, adhering to the factory-recommended service guidelines. Additional service to your vehicle may be recommended by our service advisors.
